Sibella is a truly innovative series of Silene pendula with a completely new plant habit. It is an excellent plant for bedding, early spring baskets and patio containers. The plants are hardy and can overwinter in a cold glasshouse for early flowering plants in spring. It can be grown as a cold crop along with pansies and other spring flowering perennials. Sibella can be planted outside in early spring and the spreading plants make a colourful carpet of tiny flowers early in the season. Sibella is also suitable for growing in hanging baskets, and as it blooms early, it will fill the first flowering baskets of the season. In short: new and different series for early spring!
When started from a spring sowing Sibella can be used for bedding and baskets both for sunny and shady spots in the garden. With small trials you can find out the versatility of this new series and the opportunities it offers in the marketplace.
Four colours are available: Carmine, Lilac, Pink and White. Pink is our newest colour and is a Fleuroselect Novelty 2021. Sibella Carmine is a Fleuroselect Gold Medal Winner for 2020.
